All Valley Engineering Corporation (AVEC) provides a full range of engineering, economic, and planning services to utilities of all types. We provide services nationwide to distribution cooperatives, generation and transmission cooperatives, investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, public utility districts, and industry associations.
1. Power Delivery Planning
Electric distribution systems and operation planning has become increasingly complex at utilities. Pressures in the areas of customer service and reliability coupled with opportunities for automation, distributed generation, and other solutions are changing the shape of strategic plans. The Power Delivery Planning concept is a way to respond to these pressures and forge a clear and consistent direction. The objective of a Power Delivery Plan is to prepare an electric service delivery strategy that focuses on improving customer service and maximizing benefits for each dollar invested in the electric plant, automation, and other efficiency tools. In particular, the plan is to consider reliability and cost impacts due to the application of alternate protection schemes, distribution automation, load management, distributed generation, outage management systems, and other technologies along with typical pole, wire, and substation alternatives. A Power Delivery Plan will provide effective decision-making tools for Management, Engineering, and Operations. All Valley Engineering Corporation (AVEC) has worked with many clients in realizing the value and efficiencies of solid planning for their situation. AVEC develops plans in a way that supports and strengthens client's current initiatives. AVEC can lead or assist your organization with:
Distribution Studies
Reliability Improvement
Distributed Generation (DG) Strategies
Automation Planning
Transmission Studies
Condition Based Maintenance
2. Utility Automation
A key to a utility's success is getting information to the right person quickly and in a useable format. The marketplace today expects reliable electric service, prompt and accurate responses to customer inquiries or problems, and efficient business processes and reporting. AVEC has been able to save its clients substantial dollars and difficulties by helping them identify and implement the most suitable information and automation technologies for their situation. AVEC can help your organization with:
Technology Work Plan

3. Resource Planning
Resource planning straddles both wholesale and retail markets. The recent pace of change in these markets makes resource planning one of the most dynamic areas of utility practice. The declining influence of regulatory interventions creates both new opportunities and new risks. Utilities have broader choices than ever before to shape their own futures. All Valley Engineering Corporation (AVEC) resource planning group includes senior level expertise in economics, statistics, engineering and finance allowing us to assist our clients with a broad spectrum of needs. AVEC resource planners can assist your organization with:
Load Forecasting
